1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and RouteSync, and they govern your use of RouteSync. They work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. By creating an account, joining the waitlist, posting in the community, installing the browser extension, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use RouteSync.
If you use RouteSync on behalf of a team or organization, you confirm that you’re authorized to accept these Terms for it, and “you” includes that organization.
2. Who can use RouteSync
You must be at least 16 years old to use RouteSync, and able to form a binding contract with us. If you are under 18, you may use RouteSync only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and by using it you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms. RouteSync is not directed to children under 16, and they may not use the Service. You also confirm that you’re not barred from using the Service under applicable law.
3. Your account
Most of RouteSync requires an account. You agree to give accurate information when you sign up and to keep it current. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your password and sign-in links private — the community forum and account recovery use one-time links sent to your email, so keeping your email secure matters too. Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone has used your account without permission. You may have separate app and community accounts; these Terms cover both.
4. The Service
“RouteSync” and the “Service” mean everything operated under the RouteSync name: the website at routesync.app (including the waitlist), the community forum at routesync.app/community, the app at app.routesync.app, and the RouteSync browser extension. RouteSync helps you and the people you travel with keep flights, hotels, rental cars, and receipts organized in one place.
RouteSync is evolving. We may add, change, or remove features, and some parts of the Service — such as paid plans or integrations — may be in development or offered by waitlist before they are generally available.
5. RouteSync is a travel organizer, not a travel provider
RouteSync helps you organize travel information. It is not a travel agency, tour operator, airline, hotel, or booking service, and it does not sell, book, change, or cancel travel. Any booking you make is between you and the airline, hotel, rental-car company, or other provider.
RouteSync automatically reads booking confirmations — from forwarded email, uploaded receipts, and the browser extension — and extracts details such as dates, times, flight numbers, and confirmation numbers. This parsing is helpful, but it is not guaranteed to be accurate or complete. Always verify your itinerary, check-in times, and confirmation numbers directly with the travel provider. Do not rely on RouteSync as your only record of a trip, and don’t use it as a substitute for a provider’s own confirmations or for required travel documents. RouteSync is not responsible for missed flights or reservations, or other losses arising from travel details that were incomplete, out of date, or incorrectly parsed.
6. Plans, billing, and cancellation
RouteSync offers a free Solo plan and paid plans. Paid plans are being rolled out and may be offered by waitlist before they are generally available; current plans and prices are on our pricing page.
Subscriptions and renewal. Paid plans are sold as subscriptions billed monthly or annually in advance. Unless you cancel, your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and we charge your payment method for the next period. You authorize us and our payment processor to do so.
Cancellation and refunds. You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; your paid features continue until the end of the period you have already paid for, and we don’t prorate or refund partial periods. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where we choose to make an exception.
Price changes and taxes. We may change our prices or plans. If a change affects a plan you’re on, we’ll give you advance notice, and the new price applies at your next renewal — you can cancel before then if you don’t agree. Prices don’t include taxes, and you’re responsible for any taxes that apply. If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend paid features until it is resolved.
7. Your content and your data
The travel data you put into RouteSync — your trips, flights, hotels, rental cars, receipts, forwarded emails, notes, and uploaded files — is yours. We don’t claim ownership of it.
To run the Service, you give RouteSync a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, copy, parse, display, and back up your content, and to share it with the people you choose to add to a trip, solely to provide and improve the Service for you. This license exists only so RouteSync can work; it ends when you delete the content or your account, except for limited backups as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the content you add and confirm you have the right to add it. How we collect, use, and delete your data is described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Community forum and user content
The community forum lets you post, comment, and vote. Posts, comments, and votes are public — anyone can see them, along with your display name and avatar. Support tickets are private between you and the RouteSync team.
You keep ownership of what you post, and you grant RouteSync a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute it as part of operating the forum. Don’t post content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, hateful, deceptive, or spam, or that reveals other people’s private information. Don’t impersonate others or disrupt the forum.
RouteSync may moderate the community: we can edit, hide, or remove content, and warn, suspend, or remove accounts that break these rules, with or without notice. We don’t review everything posted and aren’t responsible for content posted by users.
9. Acceptable use
You agree to use RouteSync lawfully and in good faith. You may not:
- resell, rent, or commercially redistribute the Service or access to it;
- scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service, or use bots or other automated means to access it, except as we explicitly allow;
- copy, reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of RouteSync, except where the law doesn’t allow that restriction;
- probe, scan, or test the security of the Service, circumvent authentication or rate limits, or access accounts or data that aren’t yours;
- upload malware, or interfere with or place an unreasonable load on the Service or its infrastructure;
- use RouteSync to store or send unlawful, infringing, or abusive content, or to violate anyone’s rights or privacy;
- use the browser extension to violate the terms of the travel sites it reads from, or to collect data you aren’t authorized to access;
- misrepresent your identity, or use RouteSync in a way that could harm RouteSync or other users.
If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to [email protected] rather than exploiting it — we appreciate it.
10. The browser extension
RouteSync offers an optional browser extension. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable license to install and use it to sync your own bookings to your trips. The extension reads booking and confirmation details only on airline, hotel, and rental-car sites — it doesn’t track your general browsing — as described in our Privacy Policy. You agree to use the extension only with sites and accounts that are yours or that you’re authorized to use, and to keep it updated. The extension is also subject to the rules of your browser’s extension store, and we may update or discontinue it.
11. Third-party services
RouteSync works alongside services we don’t control — airlines, hotels, rental-car companies, email providers, and the websites the extension reads from. We aren’t responsible for those third parties, their content, their availability, or their terms and policies, and your dealings with them are between you and them. Links or integrations to third-party services are provided for convenience and aren’t an endorsement.
12. Intellectual property
RouteSync — including its software, design, the RouteSync name and logo, and the content we create — belongs to RouteSync and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don’t give you any ownership of RouteSync, only the limited right to use the Service while you comply with these Terms. Don’t use the RouteSync name or logo without our permission. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve RouteSync without any obligation to you.
13. Service availability and changes
We work to keep RouteSync available and reliable, but we don’t promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time. We may change, add, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service, perform maintenance, and set limits such as plan limits on trips or travelers. Some features may be released as beta or early access — these can be incomplete or change at any time. If we discontinue the Service or a major feature, we’ll give reasonable notice where we can, so you can export your data.
14. Disclaimers
RouteSync is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will meet your needs, that booking details will be accurate or complete, or that the Service will be secure, uninterrupted, or error-free. As noted in Section 5, RouteSync organizes travel information but doesn’t provide travel — always verify important details with your travel providers. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RouteSync — and the people who operate it — will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from missed or disrupted travel, even if we have been advised that such damages were possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RouteSync’s total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid RouteSync in the 12 months before the claim, or US $100.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
16. Termination
You can stop using RouteSync at any time, and you can delete your account from account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access — in whole or in part — if you violate these Terms, if your account is used in a way that risks harm to RouteSync or others, or if we’re required to by law. We’ll give notice where reasonable, but for serious violations we may act immediately.
When your access ends, your right to use the Service stops. You can delete your data before leaving; deletion is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive — such as content ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — continue to apply after termination.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as RouteSync evolves. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, give you additional notice. Changes take effect when posted, and continuing to use RouteSync after that means you accept the updated Terms. If you don’t agree to a change, please stop using the Service.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
If you have a problem, please contact us first at [email protected]— most issues can be resolved quickly and informally, and we ask that you give us a chance to do so before starting formal proceedings. If a dispute can’t be resolved that way, you and RouteSync agree that it will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief where appropriate.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and RouteSync about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision isn’t a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may transfer ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
